New Year Celebration - 2006 !!

(Serious WARNING !! This is a mighty loooong posting.....therefore, if you do not have the luxury of time to read now, please revisit when you do have the time to do it. Otherwise, simply enjoy the photos...and skip the storymory...hehehehe).

As promised, the best has come. Yup yup.....our New Year celebration story with loads and loads of pix that we want to share with our beloved friends. All we can say is that, we had an awesome time....oooeeee!!! What a blast!! And oh boy was it a big mistake that you guys did NOT hang with us on that nite. Lol.

Okay, let's skip the storymory and get to the pix first......then the storymory at the end of this posting huh? Now, you simply have to see photos of Rozi and Anis. They looked so so glamorous and stunning and soooo sexy! Especially Rozi, with her hair and face all made up...total make over babe :)

Before I go on, I must say this to our dearest friends....CK, Feisal, Yasmin, Rose, Cookie, KC, Shahrul, Mobile Mom and hubby, Sheryl, Noreez, our Lembing friends who aren't in the house, plus others here in the house, we wished you guys could have joined us. The nite would have been more happening if you guys were there :)

Good for Darling, they were showing Manchester United footies on the big screen....and the DJ was absolutely a "Dahling" to spin for us some of our requests (June kept on sending her requests....our table was the most popular one that nite because the DJ kept on announcing June's name...Hehehehe)

We checked into two adjoining rooms at the Pyramid Tower Hotel in Sunway on the evening of the 30th. We were trying to recall when was the last New Year celebration we had together...and believe it or not, it was like 8 years ago....in 1998/1999.Because Rozi said, it was definitely before she went to Brunei...so hey....8 years ago! Oh wow...where did the time go? You mean it has been 8 New Years?? Already?? Already??? Oh wow...I'm sure CK and Feisal will remember...it was at RP, Hyatt Saujana. That was the LAST New Year celebration we had as a group. My oh my. Okay, I need not be reminded how much older I am now...boo hooo !!

On the 3oth nite, Anis and Rozi went to a New Year gala dinner in downtown. June and Darling went to catch some midnite movie at Pyramid Shopping Mall...and me? Sitting all alone in the hotel room....watching TV ( or trying very hard to)....reading a book (that too, I was trying so very hard to do). I was actually doing a lot of thinking....and a lot of thinking....and some more thinking. Well.....2005 was coming to an end very fast and 2006 was just around the near bend. So, of course, I needed to do a lot of thinking....actually a lot more of "reflections". Heh. I wasn't in the mood to celebrate anything that nite (I was more interested to do a lot of thinking and doing a lot of reflections), so I decided to stay in the room. Actually, I had bought a ticket to that New Year Gala that Anis and Rozi went. It was a good thing that I didn't go because the girls went clubbing to Bar Savanth after the Gala dinner, and my back probably could not have endured it. Hahaha.

We had spent a very lazy New Year's eve in our rooms. Mostly gabbed and more gabbings and busy trying to decide what to wear that nite. Spoilt for too many choices!! We purposely did not make any reservation for dinner or even decide on where to hang after the dinner. We all agreed that we should just go with the flow of the nite. We felt that we should not plan anything for the nite but just "play it by ear" kind of thing. We only went down from our hotel rooms around 9.30pm and then we decided to walk to Pyramid Mall to find some good restaurant to eat. Earlier I called up Avanti Restaurant (the Italian Restaurant at Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel) and I made some enquiries about the NY dinner, and boy was I shocked to know that they were charging RM179++ per pax for dinner that nite. So, we decided that we wouldn't want to spend our good money on some artsy and fancy food at Avanti because we have small stomachs (really!! No kidding!!), and no way can we whallop 7-8 courses of food. Rozi and Anis said, "No way can we eat power wearing tight evening gowns!!". Yup....I agreed. Hehehe. So we ended up at Rainforest Bistro. Actually, Rainforest Bistro (Man Utd joint) is one of our fave restaurants and hang out places because we like the food there and it has a very nice and cosy ambience...and got footies some more (Lol)...and music, music, music!!! Yayyy!! We got a very nice table...and so we thought "going with the flow and playing by ear" was a fantastic idea.

Before the countdown, I was busy sending SMSes to wish the people I love most, my family, friends and colleagues a very Happy New Year. But the connection was "Bad!!". Yeah...it is a common problem. People on the streets and the surroundings of the Pyramid Mall were cheering so loud and playing with party stringers everywhere. It was rather happening. We stayed at Rainforest Bistro for a while and then decided that we had enough (when many were about to get half drunk already...that was our cue to go off. I wouldn't want to get in the way of some of the party hardy youngsters. Heh). Then we went back to the hotel and stopped by for a bit to listen to the live band at the lounge before we went upstairs to our rooms.By the time we got back to our rooms, it was almost 2am.

Then, these people decided to go for some roti canai and teh tarik at the mamak restaurant across the hotel. I said, "you guys go ahead because my back says enough of partying tonite". They went for supper and I had to find my Hush Puppy :( LOL. While they were at supper, I was left alone in the room to do some more thinking and "reflections". When they came back, we gabbed and gabbed non-stop. I cannot understand why we have so much to talk about. But we always do!

We checked out at 1pm the next day. Then Rozi went shopping for a bit before we went home. We had a fantabulous time... a ball of a time....eventhough it wasn't anything fancy, but the most important thing is that, we had so much fun together. I would like to wish all a very Happy New Year. May 2006 give us more happiness, love and peace to our lives.
